This tea is great for a New Year’s detox and it’s also a very calming brew, enabling you to take a few minutes out of the day to rest and unwind. Lavender is a diuretic that’s rich in antioxidants, helping to cleanse your body. Mint is kind to your stomach, and chamomile is renowned for its calming properties, working together with the lavender to help you relax. Together they blend into a wonderful tasting, calming lavender tea to help you feel calmer and healthier through winter’s darkest months.
Ingredients per person
1 tsp dried culinary grade lavender or lavender from your garden
1 chamomile tea bag or 1 tsp dried chamomile flowers
1 generous sprig of fresh mint
1 tsp honey or lavender syrup (optional)
Method
Place the lavender, mint and chamomile in a tea pot, reusable tea bag, infuser or cafetiere, pour on boiling water and leave to steep for 5 minutes, then strain/pour and add lavender syrup or honey if desired.
