Bio write up: Rachel, known as Rae to her friends, is Swansea born and bred, and has lived in West Cross, on the edge of Gower, for most of her life. The majority of her career has been spent as a journalist and writer, and she continues to work as a freelance journalist and researcher alongside running Gower Lavender. She is also a poet. For as long as she can remember, Rachel has loved writing, and found inspiration in nature and the outdoors. She is passionate about the climate and sustainable farming and growing methods. Her favourite flower is lavender. She set up the business in 2017 in response to the climate crisis and wanting a working life that allowed her to prioritise her family, her creativity and her passion for the natural world.
Rachel has attended several courses with the Soap School to help her learn and hone her craft. She also has an English degree, a Novel Writing MA and a PhD in journalism studies.
