One of the most common questions we’re asked about our lavender syrup is how to use it, and although there are scores of different ways, one of our favourites is to add it to hot drinks like tea, coffee or – yes – hot chocolate. So here’s a simple, and very moreish, addition to our lavender recipes series to get you started.
This is the basic version but really you can spice up this recipe in lots of different ways by adding sprinkles, ginger, marshmallows – or you can easily make it vegan with any milk substitute you fancy (we like it with coconut milk).
Ingredients
250ml milk of your choice
25g dark chocolate (we used Green & Black’s 85%)
2 tsp Gower Lavender syrup
A squirt of whipped cream (optional)
Shaved chocolate (optional)
Method
1. Heat the milk in a pan until it’s gently bubbling.
2. Break the chocolate into chunks and stir into the milk. Keep stirring until it’s all melted.
3. Add the lavender syrup and stir again.
4. Serve topped with optional whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
