Welcome to Gower Lavender, where the products are handmade, local and lovely, and the planet is at the heart of everything we do. We’re a small family company set up in 2017 by local couple Rae Howells and Phil Poucher. What started with a few lavender plants in our garden and a crazy idea about growing in partnership with mother nature, is now three lavender patches across the outstandingly beautiful Gower peninsula, and a range of gorgeous

lavender soaps, lavender hand creams, aromatherapy pillow sprays, lavender syrup and lavender hearts that we sell through independent retailers, at markets, or send out from us to you across the UK. We grow in harmony with nature, allowing pollinators to feed before our crop is lovingly brought in by hand, and then made into luxurious products and gift sets that we package in eco-friendly compostable boxes. We hope you enjoy exploring our eco luxury range.

It’s the big outbuildings reveal! We’ve been at the farm for two weeks now and I’ve finally had five minutes to film the barns so you can have a little tour around. The phrase ‘bit of a doer-upper’ springs to mind, doesn’t it? 🫣🤣

They might be a bit derelict but you can see these buildings have good bones, and once the ivy is stripped away, the actual sycamore tree removed from the top of the wall, and the roof replaced, we’ll have a real gem of a space to work from.

While we’re trying to find some order in the chaos of moving I thought I’d share this video of our last days in the old workshop, making our classic lavender raindrop soap and then emptying out all our equipment, ingredients and packaging ready for the big move. 🚛📦

We’re currently using my (very understanding) parents’ utility room to make our soap and keep the show on the road… but soon we’ll be starting work on renovating the farm buildings so we can fit out a permanent space where we can make our products and hopefully expand the range. 💜🪻

I wonder how long until we’re making this soap in our new workshop??? 🫧👷‍♀️

What a week! Feels like I’ve been spun like a spinning top and I don’t know which way is up. We’ve packed up our whole life, our business, our home, and moved ourselves into this beautiful (but slightly dilapidated) small holding where we hope our lavender farm dreams will come true.

There are birds nesting in the walls, we don’t know how anything works, we’ve had to call in electricians and plumbers, we can’t find the TV remote and the burglar alarm wouldn’t switch off for a day.

But we’re still here, together, smiling - and today I sat in the garden with a glass of wine and took a little breath. Because we’ve only gone and bloody done it!

In a bid to use less plastic I bought some lavender and lavender beer soaps - they smelled amazing when they arrived in eco-friendly packaging, but the lavender scent when you use them is not in any way overpowering.
