Family-made lavender soap and skincare that smells divine

Welcome to Gower Lavender, where the products are handmade, local and lovely, and the planet is at the heart of everything we do. We’re a small family company set up in 2017 by local couple Rae Howells and Phil Poucher. What started with a few lavender plants in our garden and a crazy idea about growing in partnership with mother nature, is now three lavender patches across the outstandingly beautiful Gower peninsula, and a range of gorgeous

lavender soaps, lavender hand creams, aromatherapy pillow sprays, lavender syrup and lavender hearts that we sell through independent retailers, at markets, or send out from us to you across the UK. We grow in harmony with nature, allowing pollinators to feed before our crop is lovingly brought in by hand, and then made into luxurious products and gift sets that we package in eco-friendly compostable boxes. Throwback to getting the van stuck in a ditch at the farm a few months ago - luckily there were enough strong capable women (plus an honorary nephew in the shape of Iestyn) to drag it back out again, missing the fence post by inches. But missing the fence post by inches, yay! 🤣 Also, now we know exactly how deep that ditch is, so you’re welcome everyone 😆

We’re on a steep learning curve as we start to realise what we’ve let ourselves in for at the farm 🫣😱😵‍💫🤣 But we’ve thankfully got the best team ever, they truly are heroes 🦸🏼‍♀️🦸🏻‍♂️🦸🦸🏼‍♂️🦸‍♀️

It’s the question everyone’s asking at the moment: “so, how’s it going at the farm?” And here’s the answer!

Loads going on, though mainly we’ve been busy trying to save these beautiful old farm buildings from decades of neglect. Two shipping containers are now in place too, which will help us with the build short term, and might evolve into different kinds of spaces for the business in time.

We’ve found some treasures and encountered beautiful wildlife, and of course the bees have been as busy as always in the lavender. Lots more to come but hope this little glimpse gives you a peep into what we’re up to.

In a bid to use less plastic I bought some lavender and lavender beer soaps - they smelled amazing when they arrived in eco-friendly packaging, but the lavender scent when you use them is not in any way overpowering.
